As one of the regional commissions of the Assembly of First Nations of Quebec and Labrador (AFNQL), the First Nations Human Resources Development Commission of Quebec (FNHRDCQ) represents a collective of thirty-three (33) client-based employment and training points of service, which are situated within twenty-nine (29) First Nations communities and in four (4) urban centres. In addition, two First Nations organizations take part in the Commission as associate members: the Regroupement des centres d’amitié autochtones du Québec and Quebec Native Women. The FNHRDCQ Regional Office, located in Kahnawake, is responsible for the management of the current (2010-2015) Aboriginal Skills and Employment Training Strategy (ASETS) agreement signed with Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), as well as other Federal and Provincial agreements of benefit to Commission members. As FNHRDCQ is currently in the final year of its agreement, renewal negotiations are currently underway.
